Technology and
Innovation

At the service of a flexible production system

Technology and Innovation are key factors for Thor, which can ensure a flexible production capacity by managing both the custom-made hoses and products, that are more standard for the market, produced in large quantities.

The control and traceability of hoses are ensured through the production process.

The rubber compounds are formulated and produced inside the Company’s facilities, by carefully selecting the best ingredients getting to the highest quality standards required by the market.

The quality of components is certified by third-party laboratories to guarantee the compliance with the National and International Regulations.

Thor’s main goal is the right balance between the creation of economic value, environmental protection and social responsibility as a basis for its future. For this reason, the Company has made a selection of products in order to assess the potential environmental impact. Results are stated in the EPD (Environmental Product Declaration).

This evaluation is made through the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the Products, that allows to evaluate many environmental indicators such as:

global warming potential (total emission of equivalent CO2);

ozone depletion;

use of energy resources: water, renewable and not-renewable resources;

production of waste materials.

The LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) was carried out according to the requirements of UNI EN ISO 14040:2021 and UNI EN ISO 14044:2021. The European Standard EN 15804:2012 + A2:2019 served as core PCR (Product Category Rules). Furthermore, PCR 2019:14 Construction products (EN 15804:A2) was the reference PCR for the study. The LCA made by Thor has taken into consideration the PRODUCTION STAGE (Upstream and Core process, from A1 to A3 incl.), the END OF LIFE STAGE (Downstream process, from C1 to C4 incl.) and benefits and loads beyond the system boundaries (module D).

Ethical
code

Thor carries out its activities by applying rigorous principles of transparency. The Code of Ethics is created with the aim of communicating the corporate values and principles of behaviour which are at the basis of activities.
